Wimgo Dragon Boat Challenge - 2008

For 2,000 years, the ancient sport of Dragon Boat Racing has entertained and challenged all ages and experience levels around the world. The sport was introduced to Oklahoma in 2006 at RiverFest. This friendly team competition attracts both experienced and novice rowers. These fantastically decorated dragon boats are powered by 10 brave and adventurous rowers that paddle in unison to the beat of a drum, which is positioned on the bow of the boat. Teamwork and harmony will determine which carved dragonhead crosses the finish line first!

Team registration will be at 9:00 a.m. and races will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7th, 2008. Every team is guaranteed at least two races. Winning teams will continue to advance to the finals, which are scheduled to take place at 1:00 p.m. on the same day. Dragon Boat awards will be presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams at 2:30 p.m. from the Riverwind Casino Stage.
